Duration:

  • Mechanical construction began October 1, 2014, and was completed on December 9, 2015.  
  • Full mechanical completion was achieved on December 23, 2015, with methanol being produced on December 27, 2015. 

Turner Industries was responsible for the installation of all G-2 mechanical works for the project. Turner set all heavy haul transported equipment, which included the setting of the 8 pipe rack modules, 10 process unit modules, 12 lager vessels and compressors. 

turner’s mechanical scope included

  • Structural steel erection 
  • Setting of all towers, drums, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, flare stacks and the piping that interconnects them
  • Coordination of various other contractors’ work including metal building erection and roofing, portable onsite machining, lead abatement, air conditioning installations and NDE services
  • Workhours: 1,226,592 
  • Percentage of Labor Self-Performed: 50%
