Keeping the Wheels Turning at Bridgestone’s Tennessee Operations
Turner Industries has been making significant strides at Bridgestone’s La Vergne, Tennessee, facility since establishing its presence in early 2022. What began as a small team handling miscellaneous tasks has grown into a vital partnership, with Turner now responsible for all daily contract maintenance at the site.
Today, Turner’s on-site team has grown to 41 employees, primarily operating as a preventive maintenance team. One of Turner’s most significant achievements has been earning Bridgestone’s trust to handle work orders in critical areas.
“We now have two planners that work directly with Bridgestone and handle work orders in the mixing and extrusion departments through Bridgestone’s PM system,” said Donny Snow, site manager for Turner Industries at the Bridgestone facility.
Turner Industries has also taken on major projects at the facility. “One of our largest projects was replacing two bucket elevators, crucial components that hadn’t been changed out in 25 years,” Snow said. “Both towers were over 100 feet in the air, requiring multiple components and weeks of preparation. This project was completed safely and ahead of schedule.”
Safety remains the No.1 priority for Turner at the Bridgestone facility. Since beginning operations, the team has logged 108,304 workhours with a TRIR of 0.00, with only one first-aid incident reported.
Turner continues to work closely with Bridgestone to ensure the facility’s success. Employees take initiative during downtime to inspect machinery, identify potential issues, and suggest improvements. This proactive approach, combined with Turner’s commitment to safety and innovation, has earned high praise from Bridgestone.
